BSUBM's Activities

Social, Educational and Cultural Activities

BSUBM has been undertaken among others following Social, Educational and Cultural Activities:

1. Vipassana Meditation (Dhyana): BSUBM has been organising Vipassana Meditation camps periodically to teach the participants Vipassana Meditation technique, which the Buddha practiced and taught. It is practical way to achieve peace of mind and to live a happy blissful life. So far 150 camps, each of 60 participants, have been conducted.

2. BSUBM conducts every full moon day programme to promote the message of universal brotherhood since last 10 years.

3. BSUBM is running a school for deaf and dumb boys and girls aged between 7 to 14 years. Presently, 50 students are accommodated in the school.

4. BSUBM runs a hostel for boys student since 1988 and at present 25 economically weak students are accommodated.

5. BSUBM provides Dhamma Training to Bhikkhus and Shramneras.

6. BSUBM publishes books on social awakening. So far, Ven. B.R. Bodhi has written 15 books for spreading the knowledge of Dhamma.

7. BSUBM runs a weekly training classes for women for better way of life through Dhamma way of life.

8. BSUBM calls one hour evening prayer and preaching class for the devotees since last 15 years..

9. BSUBM runs Dhamma and cultural classes on every Sunday for children since last 15 years.

10. BSUBM conducts Cultural Training Courses at Mumbai and in the State of Maharashtra in the guidance of VenerableBhandant Rahula Bodhi and other trained Bhikkhus for the last 20 years.

11. BSUBM arranges meetings of Bhikkhus visiting to the Sarvodaya Buddha Vihara from different parts of India.

12. BSUBM has established Nalanda Library with number of books on Dhamma Teaching and runs it since last 12 years.

13. BSUBM arranges sending Bhikkhus to other countries for study on Dhamma. 5 Bhikkhus have been sent to Colombo, Sri Lanka for spiritual training.

14. BSUBM maintains the record of registration of members who have obtained the life membership of Sarvodaya Buddha Vihara. At present, about 6000 Sadhakas have obtained the life membership.

The donations are categorised as below 

(1) Commemorative Donation:
Such donations can be in the names of dear, and near ones. For such donation minimum amount should be Rs. One lakh and names of such donors will be displayed in marble plaque in each hall/room of Sarvodaya Buddha Vihara.

(2) Special Category Donation:
Under this category the name of the person donating Rs. 50,000 or more will be displayed on a Special Board of the Trust.

The general public is appealed to donate generously and whole-heartedly for this noble cause. The entire project of construction is being managed by BSUBM under the guidance and supervision of Venerable Bhadant Rahul Bodhi.

The trust is also registered under Foreign Contribution Act (FCRA) 1976 with the Ministry of home affairs,  The Government of India , New Delhi.
